Does SugarCRM Pro Outlook Integration runs on Linux Server too?

hello,

we are evaluating sugarcrm professional and are currently planning the server we will purchase for the installation. however, we are not sure if linux will be okay as operating system on the server. normally we would prefer a LAMP environment on the server. but we are unsure if there are any "windows-specific" features (outlook integration, plugins for office) that only work if sugarcrm is installed on a windows server instead of a linux box.

i could not find the answer to this question in the sugarcrm support area of the official website..

I think you will find that the outlook integration runs on the client machine not the server so linux is fine

it comes as part of pro

I may not be correct on this as I run CE but that's my understanding

It does come as part of Pro and not CE.

Like Mike said, it runs within the client. To extend on that point, it runs within Outlook itself. The type of server you are running is irrelevant as it connects to Sugar via Sugar's API.

Note that the On-Demand versions that Sugar sells all run off of Linux and the Outlook integration is offered as a feature of the product.

Any type of Outlook integration is client based (the SugarPro Plugin as well as the available community plugins.) so they all work regardless of the server os.
