    Default Does a Target have to be a person?

    I'm trying to figure out how to best use Sugar for our company. We don't start with a typical lead, IE, John Smith @ XYZ Company. For us, we will be sending a 'campaign' to the company itself, and then once interest is generated, we typically find out who our contact person will be (the decision maker).

    It seems that Targets, and leads for that matter are considered a 'person'. Which is true, but if we don't know who that person is until after interest is generated, how do I handle this?

    Should I input say, 1000 targets all with "John Doe" for Contact names until we find out who the point of contact is?

    ?

    Hi Will

    "First Name" and "Last Name" are not required fields at all. So you can remove them from layout or just keep it empty until you know who the Lead is.
    If you prefer keep them into layout you just need to remove the

    PHP Code:
    'displayParams' => array('required' => true),
    from "Last Name" into custom/modules/Leads/metadata/editviewdefs.php

    Kind regards

    How about being able to add many 'Accounts' to a target list? As with the prior post, we do not base our campaigns on Contacts, but on businesses.

    Thanks

    The easiest way to deal with this is name "Unknown Unknown". As you make contact with the company convert the Target to a Lead and then add the name of the person.
