Dont find Sendmail option in email settings in admin panel?

Greetings!
I have installed sugarcrm5.5.2 community version on linux. I dont find the send mail option the email settings from the admin panel. We had an option to choose send mail from drop down in Mail transfer agent. We dont find this option in the 5.5.2 version of sugar. When I tried to configure the smtp credentials, they don't work in sugarcrm but the same credentials work in outlook.

PHP version:-5.2.6
MySql Version:-5.0.51a
Apache:-2.2
Operating system:-Linux
Sugarcrm:- Community version 5.5.2

Sendmail is deprecated in 5.5.2 ... if you must use it, you'll need to use 5.5.0 (I think) or 5.2.x

Sir,
I have debugged and analysed that send mail is no more used in coding. any guess why is it that the credentials of the smtp does not work in sugarcrm and the same works in outlook. Any hint how to over come this. Thank you for your reply and time.
