I've read several threads regarding similar issues though I haven't found a resolution for my problem. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I installed Sugar CE 5.0.0e using the FastStack with MySQL for Windows. I installed it on a WIndows Server 2003. I have since upgrade to 5.0.0.f. It is basically a clean installation that hasn't been modified.

Everything works fine expect for downloading some files. I'm specifically having issues with ZIP files that are attached to Notes. I am able to go to the cache\upload directory on the server and open the appropriate file in 7-Zip. When I download the file through Sugar and try to open the file in 7-Zip (or several other ZIP programs)... I get an error.

I encounter the issue with Firefox, IE 7, Safari on Mac, Windows and Linux.

The following was set (per suggestions in other threads):
zlib.output_compression = Off

As suggested in other threads, I can repair the ZIP in WinRAR and I assume its a file encoding issue but I don't know for certain. Is anyone aware what my problem might be and how to resolve it?
