Default Drill down pipeline within date range

We have five stages: Prospect, Contract, Ready, Closed and Lost. When viewing these items in the Pipeline dashlet on the homepage then all the horizontal bars show the correct amount during the indicated period (from 01 July 2008 to 30 June 2009). When drilling down to the opportunities then all opportunities with the specific status are shown and not only the opportunities within the indicated date range. Looks like only the status is used in the drill down function.

Can anyone confirm this and if true would it be possible to get this improved in the next patch?

Version 5.0.0a (Build 3120) is the one we are using.

    Best Regards
    Marcel

I have the same problem, and since no one replied, I'm guessing that it's just the way it is. Too bad.

Yes, I've had the same trouble.

Basically the drill-down is just an Advanced Search and you can set the criteria in the Dashboard Chart to put into the URL when you drill down. Unfortunately Advanced Search doesn't support Date Ranges, only exact matches, so there is no capability to list for example opportunities by week. There are kludgy ways to match a month using particular date formats and adding %, but it's pretty ugly.

The Dispage Enhanced Search on SugarForge gives lots of extra search functionality including date ranges. I strongly recommend this module. The date ranges are invaluable and the developer Patrizio Gelosi (kenshiro) is active in the forum and very responsive to questions.

It may be possible to integrate the two by properly specifying the date range criteria.

Has anyone tried to do this? Patrizio, if you're listening, have you ever thought of adding features to use Enhanced Search for dashboard drill-downs?

    Hi,

A request that I have already received is to add the week - month - year functionality to the date search.

But this would be just a filter, maybe you would need a grouping feature for the dashboards.

Actually, I was hoping it was really simple. I'm not looking at adding functionality to Enhanced Search per se, but rather the glue in between so that a start date and end date can be mapped to these inputs on the Enhanced Search page.

My recollection from playing with this many months ago is that a simple list of field names and search values get passed from the dashboard as parameters for the search. As I said, I was hoping this would be easy to add as a parameter from the date range in the dashboard chart and get picked up from the URL.

    Ops, maybe I misunderstood.

Are you talking of the Filter in the panel appearing when you edit a dashlet? I mean the one with relative time options (today, tomorrow,...)?

As for the Dashboard Charts, I've seen for instance that in the "Pipeline by sales stage" there is already a "from / to" date selection.

I think so, but it's been too long since I looked at it.

Yes, I am talking about the "Pipeline by sales stage", so if there is already a from/to date selection and that is passed to advanced search in the URL, then does it get filled into the Enhanced Search date fields?

That would mean it is all transparent and already working, which is the best possible solution.

I' want look at this in more detail and do some experiments at some point, but I'm involved in other things right now so it won't be in the next week or two.
