Drop down data doesn't "Stick"

Hello. I recently started using the sugarCRM package.

I tried to look around on the board to see if someone else had this problem, and I didn't see any.

I thought I would try to add a drop down box to the "target" parts of the package. I was able to create the drop down.
I then went to Studio, selected "Targets, then "Edit Layout",
In all the views ( Detail, Edit, List, and Search) I added the use of the new drop down. And yes I did the "Save and Publish" on all the different views several times. That was last night. Today I go and click on the "Edit View" and made sure it was done for the "Save and Publish". Get this it worked, but only for one of my targets.

So to recap, I created the drop down, added it to all the views and did save and publish. When I use the application and use the drop down the selection I choose does not "stick" except for one entry. It hasn't worked since then for others. On the one that did work, If I select another entry on the drop down, it doesn't "stick"

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

If you installed sugar on a unix site, I suppose you did not chnage the rights of the whole sugar tree to 775.

Should I do this on the whole directory structure for the sugarcrm application? Needless to say I am concerned the application may not operate well if make that change to the whole file path.

Yes exactly, on the whole directory structure starting in the directory containing the sugar root directory.
