Hi Guys

I need to create a disaster recovery process for my SugarCRM, Can i run one CRM on two servers? making them sync in real time so if something had to go wrong, I could just change name servers to the alternate server and run as normal.

I don't see why not. You could replicate the database to a remote server and if something were to happen you could then just change the database that it is pointing to. For the app server it may be sufficient to just do a copy of the Sugar directory to remote server on a nightly basis if that were to go down.

You will need the files and the database to restore a system. So you should replicate both. Consider using rsync.

You could have 2 identical servers:

1. web server, backs up db server
2. db server, backs up web server

Rysnc the files and database, say hourly, so each is prepared to be both the web and db server. Done properly, the worst that can happen is the loss of about 1 hr of data with just a few minutes of downtime.

You should have secure offsite backup (in a different datacenter) of the files and db as well.
