Duplicate/Merge button is not available in the custom module

Hello,

First of all, I am fairly new to SugarCRM.
Our company has purchased on SugarCRM Professional 5.5.2 and now we are testing on the server to build up our custom modules.

However, I found that there are no Merge button available in List view and "Find Duplicates" button on Detail view even though I made a field "Duplicate Merge" option as "Enable" or "Default Selected Filter".

I looked up the help document, and it says "You can merge duplicate records in the following modules: Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, Cases, and Bugs"
Does it mean other custom mudules do not have this duplicate/merge function?

Am I missing something in the set up or building module?

Would you kindly help how to resolve this issue?

I already searched and found similar issues, but I could not find exact answer.

We've figured out how to enable "merge" button, but can not do anything with "Find Duplicates" in custom module. Can somebody please help?

Im having the same trouble, cant find the find duplicates button on SugarCRM 6.0.2. How can i active it?

Duplicate Merge button should be available from the detailview of the module in question.
If the user does not have delete rights to the module, the 'find duplicates' button will not be displayed.
Since 'find duplicates' and 'merge duplicates' are closely related, in order for the 'find dupicate' button to be visible and accessible the User in question must have 'delete' rights to the module in question.

BTW, find and merge dupicates are not available without delete rights, because in order to merge duplicates you must have delete rights to delete the various records being merged, so without delete rights the options to find and merge duplicates is removed as a result.

I'm also missing the merge command on both the list and detail view for my custom modules - although merge duplicates is enabled in my 'name' field definition and it works fine in core modules. Is there a trick to enabling merge in a custom module?
