duplicate when mass update on leads

Hi, i am trying to update leads throught the mass update function. When i select a lead, and then try to change a field (lead source, assigned to, account...) and click update, the original lead has not been updated, but instead a new lead with only the value i wanted to update has been created....

e.g.
Lead: First name last name, assigned to Iliane

when i mass update and try to assign the lead to beasely, i end up with

Lead1: First name, last name, assigned to Iliane AND
Lead2: blank, blank, assigend to beasley.....

Any help is appreciated!

This was a bug a few versions back, what version are you using?
