Default E-mail campaigns (E-mail marketing) not scheduling mails

    Hello,

I have created active campaign and Marketing Email under the campaign with " Start Date & Time: " in the past...

When I press "Send Emails" in the Campaign then it lets me choose the "Marketing Email". I press send. No e-mail will be sent nor will be there any queue in admin -> Manage Email Queue. The "Send Queued Campaign Emails" button has no effect. E-mail settings are valid and tested ... There is valid Bounce Handling e-mail account. ...

There is no tracker in the campaign.

I have the latest 5.2.0i version.

Where to start troubleshooting... ? How to set debug log on?

This may be obvious, but you haven't explicitly mentioned it. Did you create a target list? If so, what kind?

Good hint as I thought I would find my resolution but did not. I am having the same problem I created 2 campaigns with 2 different targets: one target list with 6 entries and the other with 2 entries (My Personal E-mails) to fully test it in a production mode. My Target Lists are set to Default. When you schedule & send the e-mails,the one with 6 entries displays the e-mails under "Message Queue" but nothing is happening and no other activities occurred under "Message Sent/Attempted", "Viewed Message", etc. & no one received any e-mails. The second campaign does not show any e-mails under "Message Queue" or others. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    MatraQ

Check your E-Mail queue under admin. If you see something there press send in order to check whether sending works in principle. If yes then your scheduler isn't working.

You need to make sure that your scheduler is set up to Process Campaign Emails. That means setting up a crontab entry (*nix) or Scheduled Task (windows) to run cron.php in the root of sugarcrm.

Thanks guys. So far, so good.

Anyways I do not understand, what is the point of capaigns subpanel under leeds / contacts when leeds or contacts have to be in target list. I have created e-mail campaign and default target list to the campaign. Now there is possibility to add contact or lead to campaign dircetly from contact/lead campaigns subpanel. Ok I add, there comes a row "Message Sent/Attempted " and related field empty to the campaigns subpanel. Note! No e-mail in contacts history subpanel. The contact said he had got the e-mail.

When I send campaign e-mails from Admin panel, then there will be e-mail note in contact/lead history subpanel. That is not a case when I add a customer directly to the campaign via contact campaigns subpanel. Is there a bug?

When I create a new e-mail under that same campaign then what happends to those contacts that are added to the campaing via contacts campaign subpanel and are not in the campaign default target list?

What exactly happends when contact is added to the campaign via contacts/leads campaign subpanel ?

When a contact/lead is added to a campaign, the only thing that happens is that a campaignlog record is created which tracks that this contact/lead was originating from the selected campaign.

This would allow for the application user to ask the contact/lead what prompted them to call/walk in, at which point they can specify the method they were reached (snail mail/radio/TV/etc campaign).

This may not make the most sense from an email or newsletter campaign where you have a defined target list prior to starting, but is better suited for other types such as Web, Radio, Print or Mailing campaigns.

Please keep in mind that only a CampaignLog entry is created for tracking purposes, the user is not added to any target list. For your email campaigns you should probably continue adding contacts/leads directly via the target list screens so that you can make sure the specified contact/lead is reached next time you send another email.

In case you wanted to follow the code path, what happens is that "include/generic/Save2.php" is called from the Select button in the campaign subpanel, which in turn executes "create_campaign_log_entry()" from "modules/campaigns/utils.php". This will create the CampaignLog record, linking the current contact/lead to the selected campaign. For lack of a better description, the standard "Message Sent/Attempted" message is displayed.

What I find confusing about your use case is that there is no email in particular that goes out from this button, only a campaignlog is created. Is it possible that the contact you asked had received an email from previous tests?

Propobly, I was messing with the campaing so much. Customer said, he got the e-mail twice.

A better description would be better in contact/lead campaign subpanel and not "Message sent / ... " It still makes no sense to add lead/contact directly to campaign as if was originated from campaign. There are allready the lead source fields.
