    Default E-Mail Campaigns Link Tracking

    Hi,

We are using Sugar locally, when I have a link setup, it adds the local IP in the tracking and image urls, i.e.

    http://127.0.0.1/sugarcrm/index.php?...0-4bd70ec201a5

Is there a way to convert or replace this to an external URL, i.e. http://crm.domain.com/ which is resolvable externally and thus the link tracking will work.

    Many thanks

    M

Absolutely, you just need to have your Sugar system on an externally accessible server. The quickest way to do this is to get set up with a hosting provider like Rackspace or of course when you buy Sugar Professional and get your Sugar On Demand account, this is all done for you automatically. Then you just need to make sure that your site_url value in your config.php has the externally accessible domain name. Again, all very simple and done for you with Sugar On Demand or if one of the SugarCRM partners hosts for you.

    Hi Clint,

Thank you ever so much for your response.

So, just to get this clear, if I setup a new sub domain on my domain - sugar.domain.com and give that a Public IP which routes to my sugar installation and change site_url to this domain that should do the trick?

Other sugar installs I use are already on an "External" domain, its just this particular one which is hosted on a LAN.

    Thank you once again.
