    Question E-mail Notification

    Hi im using Sugar 5.0.0g

    I would like to have the CRM e-mail a user with a notification when a case is assigned to them. As far as i can see iv ticked all the right boxes, i can also send and recieve e-mail through SugarCRM, so it cant be that iv entered the e-mail settings wrong. Im testing it with a google mail account.

    Basically i want the sugarcrm to e-mail users notifications for new cases that are assigned to them, so when a case is created, "Admin" (for example) gets an e-mail saying "there is a new case please deal with it" (for example).

    I can use the sugarcrm to send and recieve e-mails from a google mail account, but the notification option doesnt seem to be "notifying" anyone.

    Can someone give me an example of a working scenario.

    Hi Dan,

    I was able to successfully create a case and have a notification sent using 5.0g. The notification will only go out if you are creating a case for another user (if you create a case which you assign to yourself, then a notification will not be sent to you).

    Make sure that the outbound email settings are set up, that the users have a valid email address populated, and that users have the 'notify on assignment' checked.

    You might wan to double check that the notification did not get labeled as spam and test sending to a different mail account

    Ah yes thats sorted it, i was assigning them to myself.

    What about sending them to a customer, for example iv just come off the phone and created an account and a case for this customer, i now want to automatically e-mail them their case number with brief description telling them to quote it if they need to call back.
