E-Mail Notification on Task Assignment / Call/Meeting/projecttask

Hello Pros!

Allthough searching the forum, I didn't find a solution for my System NOT SENDING Assignments by E-Mail.

The Usersettings are defined to send a mail to an assigned user.

- If a user assigns a call/task/meeting/ Project task/ to a Systemuser, Sugar should send a Mail notification to the user.
- is a user able to assign tasks/meetings/calls/ to himself? How is that possible.

How can I do that?

Right now the system does not send any mail to a user under task assignment. Setting is "Sendmail".

Hello Fabian,

In order for system notifications to go out, the following must be set:

-On the User settings, the 'notify on assignment' checkbox must be checked and they must have a valid email address populated.
-On the Email Settings in the Admin area, 'Notifications on?' checkbox must be checked and email settings must be set. Email notifications are sent out with these settings. Try test sending out an email. If this works on the sendmail, then sendmail is ok.

An email notification will only go out if one user creates a record and assigns it to another user of the system. You do not receive an email notification if you create and assign the record to yourself.

I just tried it now with different user and it works perfectly for tasks.
Now I added the assign-to field also in meetings and calls, but no notification is send...

Wouldn't it be interesting to have the function, to be notificated by own tasks? How could that be implemented?

Should I post a message to bugs.sugarcrm.com?

So here is the Solution and the logical way:

The Assignment of a task does work if your settings in "Usersettings" are correct and the Checkbox for "sending on user assignment" his checked.

For Calls and Meetings please use the "invitation" field right at the bottom of the EditView of Task and Meeting. Here you have the possibility to invite existing contacts from the System by search function (also User if he/she isin system) and by entering a email from a user wich is not in system. Makes much more sense! I think customer will accept that.

For Calls and Meetings module, there was no notification emails sent out like other module. This was a bug. But it has been fixed in the lattest released patch. You can upgrade to the lattest version to solve the issue. Hope it helps.

I try to upgrade via the upgrade wizzard: the system is checking, but after some seconds, I get a Script Error 500 Alert... what could that be?

Hi,

I'm not sure it you're saying you've set both post_max_size and upload_max_filesize to larger values - or that the error message suggests setting post_max_size higher and you've changed upload_max_filesize. if it's the latter, then you need to set post_max_size too as they are two separate php variables.

If you have dome both, then have you restarted the web server?

Sorry - I re-read the post and you have done both.

If you're getting a 500 error, there may be more details in the webserver logs. Check both the access and error logs.

is there any possibility to just upgrade somme files manually? I made so many modifications that i am frightened, they will be erased, when i upgrade the system.
