Edits in Studio are not being saved in any view. Help

I am trying to make some changes in the contacts module through studio. specifically, I would like to take 3 existing fields, remane them and then create drop down lists to be associated with them. I am able to go in and make some changes but when I hit save everything reverts back to how it was originally and none of my changes are recorded. Help! The version I am working on is 4.5.1d (build 1273).

This sounds like a permissions issue, more specifically, it sounds like the system is unable to write to the <sugar>/custom/modules/Contacts and/or <sugar>/custom/working/modules/Contacts directory.

Do the files in either of those directories get updated when you hit Save or Deploy?
