Hi Moe,
have you looked at the documentation in the Sugar University? If you scroll to the bottom of the page, there is a section on configuring emails.
You will want to make sure you configure the System Outbound email settings. This is located under Admin-->Email Settings. The system uses these settings to send out system notifications and campaign emails. You can test if you settings are correct by using the emails module and see if you are able to send yourself an email.
For Campaigns, you must set up an inbound email item of type =Bounce Handling in Admin-->Inbound Email.
For Personal inbound email settings, or to specify individual outbound email settings on a user basis, you must do so from each user's Emails module by clicking the Settings button and filling out the appropriate settings.
