    Unhappy Email Account Problem: Email Passwords keep changing. Help

    Help... We've got a strange problem that I hope someone can shed some light on. We have an Exchange server that is working with SugarCRM v5.0b (See more details below). I noticed that when (if) our Exchange server fails (IMAP Service Fails), it creates major problems with the Email Accounts (Inbound and Outbound passwords). All (usually) email accounts suddenly loose their proper passwords. It's almost like something is trying to re-configure/re-pair the passwords. They also loose the folders for the accounts. I have to manually re-enter all 12+ sales people's passwords, one by one. I've done this 4-5 times in the pass month. The last two times it happend was 3/31 and 3/25.

    I disabled the "Repair Email Accounts" from within the Sugar CRM admin panel to make sure someone wasn't trying to fix an email account - while at the same time actually distroying all of the email account passwords (inbound and outbound).

    I looked over the database fields and noticed that they are being changed by something. I checked the Scheduler and everything is disabled except for a custom logic routine by leads (something I wrote). All the scheduled email opperations are disabled.

    Problem fields:
    Table: outbound_email
    Field: mail_smtppass
    Table: inbound_email
    Field: email_password

    Similar problem here, as soon as the "Email-Repair" feature is used passwords go all wrong.
    Disabling it did help, so it seems itīs not happening by itself as described by jjwdesign.

    Mat,

    Did you disable it at the function level? I found the repair function yesterday and commented out the code to prevent something (unknown) from using it.

    modules/InboundEmail/InboundEmail.php
    function repairAccount()

    We'll see if what happens over the next couple of days.

    Well, it seems like it just happend again. Several of our sales users' email accounts are not working again; due to password changes - inbound and outbound. This one really has me guessing.

    I think I found a problem. I used the Admin - Quick Repair feature to "Delete Cache" for all modules. This is not a good idea, as it seems to delete all of the folders for the email accounts and mess-up the passwords. I don't exactly understand why.

    Maybe I'll enter this as a bug.

    Uhm, sorry, havenīt been noticed about you reply for some reason.
    But you already solved it, yes , I meant I disabled the repair function for modules in the admin panel as long as keeps messing up the mail accounts.

    I also had to deactivate the Admin - Scheduler - Check Inbound Mailboxes.
