Email address for contacts

If I edit an existing contact and save it, the email address is deleted from the contact.

Also, if I try to edit an existing contact to enter an email address, the field to enter the email address will never appear.

• SugarCRM version
• Installed packages
• By hand customization

I'm getting something similar. I've just upgrade from 5.2 to 6.2. most things seem fine (still testing) but emails are an issues
when you try to edit a lead/contact or account the email field is messing. there is the + button but it does nothing.
perhaps related to this is this message when hitting the compose button
Failed to load: http://..../include/javascript/tiny_...itor_plugin.js
Also, the system does not seems to recognise the outgoing email server (gmail)

and add missing code from module/Contacts/controller.php
