Email Alerts module, sugar C.E, dynamically send to the Lead / Account email

Hi,
I am only getting started with Sugar- thus using the latest version of sugar C.E (5.2).

At the moment I ‘m using an evaluation version of the professional version (Sugar onDemand) but intent to use an on Site version of C.E. (to start with anyway). I’ll want to send mails to contacts/leads, reminders excreta. I was looking at the Email Alerts and the workflow templates, is this the right module to do this – if so does the CE version have the sufficient functionality to do this, Also in the Email Alerts section, it looked as if the template Alerts was for employees only, couldn’t figure how to dynamically send to the Lead / Account email?

Any help or direction to relevant forum or docs much appreciated.

I think you'll find valuable info in the Knowledge Base.

If you look at the comparison chart of Editions, you will see that CE does not have workflow, thus the reason that many people start with CE and as they get a taste of capabilities, they migrate towards PRO.
