Hi there,
I'm having a really interesting problem. Say I own the domain mydomain.com which is hosted by an external provider. Using their control panel I recently deleted all users and related email accounts, and added 'dumby' passwords.
I then added some of the old email accounts back as well as a large number of new ones. To keep things clean I created a brand new SugarCRM installation in a separate folder from the original installation I had.
For some reason SugarCRM is unable to access any of the new email accounts. I receive authentication errors. Yet I can successfully connect to the accounts via both Outlook, Squirrelmail, and Web2Mail.com without a glitch. The error I receive is:
"Can not authenticate to POP3 server: Bad authentication
Please check your settings and try again."
To make matters even more confusing, the old, original SugarCRM install is amazingly able to connect and download messages from an account that should have been deleted and recreated with a new password (as mentioned above). I assumed this was purely a problem with my web host until I tried using the same login credentials that SugarCRM successfully used to connect, however this time in Outlook, Web2mail and Squirrelmail; yet all of the others received authentication errors.
Basically, only SugarCRM's email client seems to be able to connect to this should-be-deleted email account yet unable to 'real' accounts.
Yet, I'm still shaking my head at how this is even possible. I've contacted my web host and they're looking into it. In the mean times, I figured I'd ask if anyone here had any ideas. Anyone?
I believe my webhost is running:
PHP 5.2
Apache 2.0
MySQL 4.1.21
SugarCRM 4.5.1d
I'd be more then willing to supply any and all login information for those that want to perform this fun test themselves... Feel free to private message me...
Thanks again!
