Is this an email bug?

Version 5.0.0f (Build 3338)
Workstation: Mac OS X, Firefox
Server: FreeBSD, Apache, PHP, MySQL

On a lead screen, if you have two email addresses... a primary and another one (secondary), if you click the secondary email link, when the email screen comes up it has the primary.

Makes no sense. Why have the secondary email listed as a "live" link?

Just tested it in 5.0f and 5.1rc and you are right. I believe this shouldn't be. For email campaigns it's ok because there should be only one email per contact/lead. But if you choose an email address explicitly then this one should be used.
Will file a bug if it hasn't been done already...

Thank you. I hope they fix this. I did some quick research and found that this had been noticed here in a post in 2005.

I do not believe that this is a feature. How often does it happen that you use another email address for somebody because you know she or he is on a job where they have no access to the corporate network. Nonetheless this is an "official" (CRM worthy) email on your side.
Or what's about consultants who have many email addresses, especially if they are working on more than one project at the same time.
Or emails late night that must go the private address because they are urgent?
Why would I record additional email addresses if I can't use them?
