    Default Email Campaign - Test Email Problem

    I've got this problem : Send Test button from the Email Campaign didn't send anything. And there is no error log on sugarcrm.log. I tried to create Campaign with Wizard and Classic, but it was the same.
    Even though, if I tried to send single email with the Email Template in Email module with the same contact/prospect/leads and it worked, I also test the inbound mail and it was fine too.
    I tried on sugarCRM CE-5.0.0c, sugarCRM CE-5.0.0g, and sugarCRM CE-5.1, all of them using SQL Server 2k5, in Windows 2003.
    Does anybody has solution ?

    Hi rus,

    do the campaign statistics show the campaign emails as being 'Message Sent/Attempted'? Or are they displayed still in the 'Message Queue'?

    The campaign statistics do not show anything. Not in Message Sent neither Message Queue.
    I got nothing from the sugarcrm.log either.

    Did you set up a target list of the type "test"? This is the only one that is considered when pressing the test button.

    wow.. you're my savior.. its because of the target list type is the default.
    I really don't pay attention on this. thanks roblaus.

    I am having a similar issue. The test emails are just staying in the message queue. the target list is set to test and I've tried using the send queued emails function in the admin panel. I am truly stumped but dying to use this thing. any help would be much appreciated.

    update: it looks like an smtp error as per the sugarcrm.log file:

    SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
    update: and it looks like i might have solved the problem (not really a problem though). i didn't check off "Use SMTP Authentication?" in the email settings so I never set the smtp username and password. i think it will work now but will post back if it doesn't.

    update: no it still doesn't work. the emails just sit in the message queue. does this have to do with it being community edition?

    update: I switched to use sendmail instead of smtp and it works now

    Hi there,

    Was having some trouble using the send test function and the target list type has been set to Test as well.

    They are not showing in the message queue in admin as well after I click the send test button.

    Any idea if there are any other settings to be done?

    Currently using the Version 5.2.0j.
