Default Email client stops receiving mail "Dowloaded 0 of 1"

One of the users email client somehow has crashed. It simply stopped receiving any new mail but can still send mail. When you click Check the pop up opens and displays "Downloaded 0 of 1 mails" the Rebuilds the Folders with no errors. Inbox remains empty though I have read through the mbox file.

    Here is our setup:

SugarCE 5.5.1 (recently updated from 5.1, about a week before the crash)
we are running our own email server so mail is accessed through localhost and pop3
    the mailboxes reside in /var/spool/mail/userid

Here is what I've done so far.

    1) have had email crashes before and fixed with.
    - change name of mbox file from userid to userid.bak
    - send test mail to user. this will create a valid mbox file
    - copy mail from .bak file to new mbox file
    ** Did Not Work **

    2) In Sugar
    - Repaired and Rebuilt (multiple times)
    - Rebuilt email inbox (multiple times)
    ** Did Not Work **

Not sure what to do from here, thanks in advance for any help.

    FIXED!

Last step was apparently to delete the troubled Mail Account. I'm guessing it had some sort of cache it was stuck on. By deleting the account, logging off of sugar, log back in and set the Mail Account back up everything worked. Including recovering all of the old email I copied from the backed up earlier.

    Hope this helps someone later...
