Email Column Formatting

I apologize because I'm sure this subject has been threaded in the past, but I can't find it. My issue is more regarding aesthetics than functionality. The columns in the email module are alway slammed together to the left (please see attached screenshot) and although they can be adjusted, it's frustrating to continually have to. Has anyone found a fix for this?

I've modified the css and set the columns to "auto" width, which works beautifully, but unfortunately the column headers don't adjust with the rest.
