Email Contact directly from Opportunity

We are running SugarOS 4.5.1h.

If I'm viewing an Op and have several Contacts assigned, I often want to email one of those Contacts.

I want my email to be organized with the Op.

But if I click email.. I then have to search for the Contact.

That was already right there in the Op.



How can I quickly email a Contact assigned to an Op but keep the email as part of the Op? If I click the Contact directly then my email will get assigned to the Contact and I have more work to assign it back to the Op for tracking purposes.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I have the same problem - Sugar 5.1.0a.

When i am viewing the opportunity for an account that has an email associated with it, it seems like when i click the Compose Email button that it should pre populate the email address.
Why not?

Hello,

Highlight and copy the email address of the Contact in the Contacts subpanel of the Opportunity. Then click on the 'Compose Email' button from the Activities subpanel of the Opportunity. Paste the copied email into the email address box, compose your email and send it out.

In 5.0, the email is linked to the Opportunity (you will see it in the Opportunity subpanel under History) AND in the History subpanel for the Contact, since it recognizes the email address of the Contact. In 4.5, i believe that the email might just be linked to the Opportunity, but this is what you want.
