Email / Contact info privacy

Is there a way to make email or contact data private to a particular user, for example, in a corporation sales personnel might not be allowed to view banking information received by the administration personnel, likewise, there is the case where a major deal is going on that for strategic reasons the management does not want to be know through out an organization before the deal is completed, not to mention if you have dealings with an embassy or a bank as a customer where they usually make you sign all kind of non-disclosure agreements for sensitive data

At this point the only way we have found to accomplish this has been to create a separate instance of Sugar for users that handle sensitive data, but this seems like a brute force approach, a more elegant way of doing it would be to have the capacity of limiting user access to the sensitive records, in my previous CRM program we had 3 levels of control on visibility of information at contact level

It seems that you need either the Professional edition or you can install Team OS.

Hello Jose,

with the Pro and Ent versions of sugar, you can limit access to certain records through the use of Team security. You also have the option to limit access on the field level as well (via roles).
