Email issues 5.0.0d

Hi,

All i am having some issues with the email module in 5.0.0d. When testing an IMAP account the screen seems to freeze and then sugar stops working in other tabs i have open. I have submitted a bug 21857http://www.sugarcrm.com/crm/?option=...3-481a8a042b8c and apparently this issue was addressed in 5.0.0c.... but there is still an issue

Search the forums and look at the 5.0 roadmap by CLint.

There is extensive discussion about this in the docs. Currently IMAP is having some issues and they are working on it. There are various work arounds for you when you search.

If I remember correctly IMAP will be fixed in 5.1 and possible in 5.0e due soon.

hey, Can you provide me with username and password as you mentioned in the bug. Let me investigate this as I haven't seen this issue before.

ptemplin7, In 5.0 version, IMAP issues are related to delete email as we hardcoded the trash folder to INBOX.Trash which has been fixed in 5.1 and not testing connection problem.

I grow more frustrated by the day with sugar email, i have now installed 5.0.0e and still the email does not work. I sent a private message to sgandhi above giving access to my server to look into issues and have never heard back.

I am trying to convince my directors to spend 10-20K on sugar pro, but it is hard to convince them of a spend when i cant get the email client to work.

We are finding in our continued testing that the Gmail IMAP interface isn't always fast enough in responding with how we have designed our email client. Bascially we send a lot of requests to Gmail in building our email UI and Gmail doesn't respond quickly enough. We are redesigning this part in 5.1.

The workaround at this point is to use POP3 and set up a scheduled job to check inbound emails. This should get around the latency issues that are causing your Gmail connection to slow down the Sugar email client.
