Default Email module and Exchange server

    Hy,

Iīm running SugarCRM ver. 4.5.1 Open Source on Linux, and Exchange server on Windows 2003 SBS SP2.
I have a trouble with proper configuration of Sugarīs email module.

All my incoming mails are displayed, both on SugarCRM and Exchange server...
But my outgoing or send mails are not (sync between SugarCRM and Exchange server).
Is something like that even possible in Open Source ver. of SugarCRM or i have a glitch in my configuration?

Is it possible to modify something that mails that are send from SugarCRM are logged on Exchange server?

    I would appreciate any help...

I don't think this is possible. When Sugar sends mail, it uses SMTP or sendmail. In your case, it would be SMTP. I believe Exchange would need to have the message sent from a client such as Outlook in order to do what you wish.

You know, I basically have the same set up and I have been wondering about this as well. When examining the routines for the IMAP mail checking (I didn't want Sugar marking the messages as READ in my Exchange Inbox), I noticed there was a PHP function called imap_mail.

I have not tested, but I have been wondering if I were to swap out the SMTP mail functions with this IMAP_MAIL function, if the messages would be placed in the Exchange's Sent Items folder. Other than that, I wonder if it would be possible to hook into the OWA to send mail (so it would show up in Exchange).

    Just thinking....

Just out of curiosity, but why not use Outlook as the client and then use the Outlook plug in to sync the desired messages back into Sugar?

Simply for ease and cross-syncing in remote access situations. I guess the other solution would be to implement the Sugar Plug-In for Outlook into OWA. Then OWA could be loaded up in the Portal Page, and that would work as well.

Plus we use Blackberry Enterprise Server which syncs the Outlook Data to the moble phones. So if we could tighter integrate OWA, with Sugar the mobile phones would stay updated easier.
