    Unhappy email notifications error

    I am using 5.0.0g CE
i have an issue that when I assign a user to a lead using the mass update it does not send out an email notification. It works perfectly when i assign a lead from the edit view page of the lead, and it works perfectly if i create lead with web page form.

    any help is appreciated.

This is still true - is that acknowledged Issue by SugarCRM Team ?

I am experiencing a similar problem using a freshly installed Version 5.1.0a (Build 4837) on a Linux box. No notifications are being sent for me.

All notification options are checked, both for user and email settings. SMTP Auth is on with my account info. I check my firewall and all SMTP ports (SSL and non-SSL) are open.

sugarcrm.log nor the maillogs show any sign of an email trying to be sent.

I am using my user (an admin user) to assign a task (Project Task) to a test user that has a test email address of mine.

    Any thoughts?

    Peace,
    Tom

My particular problem was with the Project Tasks. SugarClint in the IRC channel helped me to change a line of code to fix the problem.

In the <SugarRoot>/modules/ProjectTask directory, change line 70 of Save.php to say:

    if (!empty($_POST['assigned_user_id']) && ($_POST['assigned_user_id'] != $current_user->id)) {

And that will fix the Project Tasks.

    Peace,
    Tom

Anyone care to chime in on this one? Unanswered for six months now... We have the same problem. Any input would be just fantastic.

I'm just chiming in that I would also like to be able to send a notification when I use mass update. Of course, ideally I'll have Sugar automatically assigning these leads, in the mean time, if I give someone 5 leads that came in, I'd like them to get either 1 email that says "You just received 5 leads!" or individual emails for each lead.

When I Edit a lead to change the user it's assigned to, the new user DOES receive an email notification.

I wonder if there's an easy work around for this, but I certainly haven't found a solution.

Gosh, I even use that mass update button to assign 1 lead because it's so much more convenient than opening/editing each lead, and with the advanced search I can see all of today's leads, sorted by user, so that I can see Admin is sitting on 1 new lead, User 1 has already received 5 leads, user 2 has 5 and user 3 doesn't have any yet.

I'm going to keep pursuing this solution. My salespeople would benefit greatly from a notification that would hit them in the face and hey "Hey! Go get on the phone!"
