email quick create dialog: "related to" dropdown broken

This sugar is on debian, mysql, apache, on 5.2.0f CE, and in email module, when doing a quick create, if I use the related to drop-down, the field to the right (where you enter the value of the field) disappears!
Using Firefox 3

So, if you have an email, do a quick create, then click on the related to drop-down, and choose something other than accounts, the box immediately to the right disappears.

Oddly enough, this will only happen on the second, third, and fourth quick creates - i.e. the first use of the quick create, it will work fine, but on the second email, it will disappear.

I can refresh the emails module, and the behavior is fine for the first email.

Really rough when you're trying to create multiple cases in a stream of 10 emails. . .

Firebug throws an error: this.el is null EXT.DomHelper=function() {var L=null. . .

Firebug shows that using the dropdown sets the parent_id field to hidden and trows the above error

when I used the firebug info, I found a closed bug (supposedly this is fixed in 5.2.0c) but it's still affecting me.

perhaps they fixed this with the opportunities module but not the projects module?

Is there any way I can track down what was fixed in the below bug - maybe that will help me fix it again. . .

Truly dismaying - I posted on that bug, and as of this morning, the bug has disappeared from the bug list - i.e. somebody deleted it rather than keep going with the comments.

Hopefully what's happened is that I don't know how to use the bug list and now I can't find the bug, but why would they delete a historic bug? It's referenced in release notes. . .

We don't delete bugs. However there maybe an issue with our bug tracker and search - there have been a few issues with it recently. I'll look into it.

Matthew - thanks - the link above works again. It's number 25626. CAn I simply re-open it, and does anybody have a direction in terms of troubleshooting the issue? The firebug info changed after I upgraded to 5.2.0i and repaired JS - it's now throwing a either a document.form_EmailQCView_Tasks.parent_name is undefined - this is in the function onchange(event), or the same this.el is null from the Ext.DomHelper=function in ext-all.js on line 8.

I am guessing that the parent name array is not coming through - how to check that and which file would it come from?

You can't reopen it, but I'll escalate it inside engineering and talk with them about it. Thanks for your help!
