    Default Email remove me problem

I have a couple of problems with the email removeme.php script which I cannot figure out.

I can call the script and I get the text message saying "you have requests......" so I know its getting through, however when I look at the status of the campaign it doesnt show the user as having selected to opt-out? If I use an internal user who can see the CRM server and send the email with the standard removeme.php call I see the same results ie the web page but I also get the user showing as opted out? Is each target list tied to the campaign? I have been using the same target list and it appears to show the same information for each campaign regardless of the real responses? Should I create a new target list for each campaign? Lastly why do I get the message but the use information is not updated?

The next problem is interface related, if I run the wizard to create the campaign I get the option to set the opt-out to be my script. If I go in and create the campaign using the other options, when setting up the tracking url I dont get the option to set the opt-out url to be the same? Is this a bug or simply the way its intended to work (a feature)

Hi all, not sure if anyone responds from development to these posts but I have come across a stopper for my proposed fix for the opt-out method I was deploying.

First of all the opt-out process is flawed, when a user selects opt-out they opt out of everything, every time I viewed the campaign details it shows the user as opting out even if they haven't until I remove the flag. I thought the opt-out was campaign based not user based? A user may want to opt out of a single campaign but still receive other offers. Or it should at least stop you from selecting a user who has opted out.

Next I tried to use the contact_id to set the opt-out flag using the removeme.php sript. Unfortunately the script needs the target_tracker_key from the campaign_log table, I cannot set this within an email template yet I can see it at the bottom of the email even when I add my own tracker and opt-out.

So the question I have is, how do I set the tracker option correctly within a template email? I think the process is putting the tracker in after building the rest of the email?

I could simply create my own script which would set the opt-out flag in the database but want to keep it as standard as possible and not have lots of code which is created outside of Sugar if possible.

I am new to this, but if you use suppression lists for campaigns and add the people who opt out to the suppression list this should work. You then just have to use a separate suppression list for each campaign. I have had better results with Suppression by ID than by email
