I've set up my first Email Campaign, and it seems to work (at least sending to myself) but I have several questions about the proper configuration.
1. It's my understanding that emails are sent from the account described in Admin > Email > Email Settings, and therfore you can only use one email address/account for all campaigns. You can't set the From address on a campaign by campaign basis. Is that right?
2. I set up the outgoing email campaign to use a gmail account, but I put my email address with a private domain in the From Address line. On the test emails I sent, the From Address is the gmail address and the From Name is not what is set in Email Settings ("SugarCRM"). So, is SugarCRM really pulling from the Email Settings in Admin? It makes sense that the From Address has to be the one from which the email is actually sent, but then why does SugarCRM have a separate field for the From Name? Does the From Name set under Campaigns > Campaign Name override the Email Settings?
3. After *much* searching of the documentation and site I finally found that the email address to handle bounces is set in Admin > Email > Inbound Email. This can be a different address from the Email Settings one, correct? And it must be IMAP?
4. Last mystery. Under Campaigns > Actions > Set Up Email. I can't find this anywhere in the documentation, and I don't understand how it relates to the other settings described above. In my case, the values are all the same as those in Email Settings. Is the New Mail Account intended to be for bounces alone? If so, how does it relate to the Inbound Email address described above?
I've done a lot of searching in the documentation and forums but couldn't find answers that I knew were relevant to my version: CE 6.0.2. If I've missed something and you could send a link to relevant information, that would be great. Otherwise, I'd really appreciate some clarification.
