Email Settings Error: SECURITY PROBLEM ... AUTH=PLAIN

I'm getting the error: SECURITY PROBLEM ... AUTH=PLAIN

Hello!

This happens when you have the mailserver on a different IP and not using SSL (probably there are other cases as well)

Change line 2259 in modules/InboundEmail/InboundEmail.php
to:

if(!empty($retArray['good'])||1==1) {

I am having this issue, however there is nothing on line 2259. So, what am i supposed to be changing to the line above from?

I contacted my web-host and this is what he said:

"This application is doing that because it is running from a different
IP than the mail server. The application believes that when the
services are hosted from different IPs that the only authentication
that should be permitted is one that's encrypted. Kind of stupid if
you ask me. They aren't accounting for both services being on the
same secure network.

last post of the first page of posts offers a way to correct this
problem."

However no one is responding on that thread to the same question I asked (others asked it too).

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!
