We recently upgraded our XAMPP setup from XAMPP 1.7.1 to 1.7.4 final. This brought about the following servers changes:

php (5.2.9->5.3.5)
apache (2.2.11->2.2.17)
mysql (5.1.33->5.5.8)

Since this upgrade, our email settings that used to work fine to log into our email accounts no longer function. Is this a known issue? we have not changed the settings for these email accounts and they are on a completely different (external email host) server so there is no reason to believe the settings won't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions or things that may help here? Any more information you may need, i will be glad to give you if you just ask.
