Default Email is Slow Slow Slow

Using the latest sugar release 5.0b. When you click 'compose email' from a lead or contact, it must take 40 seconds or so to load the email interface. Then, once you do click send, you're left at the email interface, not sent back to the lead or contact as in earlier versions. Any ideas out there how to speed this thing up? I'm finding myself jumping over to gmail to send a message, which saves about 40 seconds per....

    Thx

we're gonna need a little more info on your specs, from your SugarCRM server, email server and client PC. Also, the connections between them, number of concurrent users on the servers and the size of your sugarCRM database (many records?)

Our sugar app runs on a private VPS wtih 320mb min ram and 1024mb burst ram and 275gb bandwidth. And we have ONE user - me. The VPS is a Linux box centos and php Apache 1.3, PHP 5, cache enabled, Zend optimizer. Everything else runs fast on the vps - new sugar is clunky - email is real clunky. Love the app though, just getting old using it :-)

I am having the same issue. I just installed the latest version of Sugar Community Edition yesterday. The server is a normal machine - AMD Athlon 3700+, 1 GB RAM, lots of disk space, running Ubuntu 7.10.

I installed last night and the install process said I needed cURL and IMAP support built into PHP fror full functionality. I downloaded the latest PHP5 using apt-get sources, downloaded IMAP support and compiled everything just fine.

For the first go-round, I used inetd to run IMAP/POP (our mail server is running POP not IMAP). Retrieving a list of emails is fast, beyond that, it's hell. Opening an email may take 30 seconds or more. Deleting an email is about the same, if it works at all. Once the system hangs on email functionality, I can't get back to the email tab at all.

I switched IMAP/POP to xinetd, but that does not seem to have fixed anything.

This is a brand new installation- two users, almost no data, only a couple of emails pulled into two users' mailboxes.

The rest of the app is great, but the email functionality is totally unusable, at least for us. Not sure what the issue is, and I would be happy to help debug if there is anything I can do to help find a resolution to the problem.

Default Ditto over here - very slow on anything email

    Hello,

New install, just upgraded to 5.1.0a still slowwwwwww.

Checking email has big lag, sending email, deleting email all big lag.

Testing at this juncture. I'm a single user (not married ;-) Linux, Apache env. I do have multiple email accounts being utilized but not much mail moving around.
