    Post Email synchronization-Internal Server Error

    Hello,
I am using Sugarcrm CE 5.5.1. I have configured the Emails for incoming i.e.POP3 and when tested the settings I get the messages being displayed as Successfully connection Established successfully. When I save the settings, It asks to wait if we are setting for the first time and it displays downloading 5 of 50 mails and after some time it displays Internal Server error. Can any one give their valuable suggestions to over come this. What might be the cause of this. I have increased the max_execution_time in php.ini file.

    Operating System:- Linux
    Sugar Edition:- 5.5.1 CE
    PHP:- 5.2.9
    Mysql:- 5.1.35
    Apache:-2.2.3

Thank you in advance for your time.

    Regards,
    ShivaRanjani

Check your apache log file to see what errors have been generated.

You should also check your php error log. It's quite possible that you will see a "MySQL server has gone away" message. This happens when the MySQL timeout is reached before the server can complete the query.

If possible, try to use an empty mail account, i.e. a mail account with no mail in it (well, you can put one mail in it for testing purposes). If I'm correct, you should be able to log in the account correctly.

Question Re: Email synchronization-Internal Server Error

    Hello,
Thank you for your suggestion. I have checked in the sugarcrm log file it displays the error as "MySQL error 2006: MySQL server has gone away". Any hints how to over come this. Is it related to the server hosting providers tasks or is it related to Sugarcrm. Kindly provide your valuable suggestions.

In advance thank you for you time.

Will this link be any help for my task "http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/program-variables.html"

    Regards,
    ShivaRanjani

I can see I was correct about the error.

The issue is not with Sugar but with the MySQL settings on the server hosting your account.

The link http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/...variables.html would be useful only if you have root access to the server. If your site is hosted on a shared server, you won't be able to change the global MySQL settings.

Of course, you may try contacting your host about this issue, but I doubt they'll change their server settings.
