Email templates and campaigns do not work

Hello, I have SugarCrm 4.5.0F installed, on Fedore core 5.
The problem I haves is when I create an email template to send the same email to many contacts, when i try to include personalized fields it does not work, it only works well for the first destination, the rest appears the same.
My (provisional) template is:
estimado señor salutation (last name): $contact_salutation $contact_last_name
nombre completo: $contact_full_name
first nombre: $contact_first_name
last nombre: $contact_last_name
email: $contact_email1

Am i doing enything workg? this funtionality does not work?

Hi Hector,

The templetes work well, at least for me here on Sugar 4.5.0f.
Maybe your issue is related to some JS issue with your webbroswer?
What webbroser/version are you using?


Only there is one mean issue with the campaign emails:
Campaigns containing database field do NOT correctly convert the charset of the database fields.
If for example your database uses UTF-8 and you have Sugar configured to use ISO for sending out emails
then Sugar does currently not convert the charset of the database fields.
So Sugar will send out ISO emails containing some UTF characters.
These emails will look very broken in most email readers (e.g. Outlook)

IMHO the only way to work around this is currently to make sure that Sugar is setup send all emails always as UTF.

Thanks. Templates continue not working well, in all emails appears the same fields (NAme, last_name,...)
But I find that using campaings works well.
