Email templates: Insert Variable for day and date?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for the Insert Variables, (in templates) for inserting automatically day and date in emails sent out to costumers.

I am wondering if there is a such functionality?

It would be a damm usefull good thing have, I was quite surprised to note that its not there, hence my question.
