embedding images in emails

Can someone kindly explain ho to EMBED - (not attach or via url) images in emails please?

Going through urls means that the recipient has to download the pictures...something that not all will do!

Would be very happy to know what to do!!

Why go to the trouble of finding a similar thread on embedding pictures when Nyla can just be ignored here. I'm running sugar 451d on a shared lamp server and can't upload images to be embedded in emails. This seems like a pretty standard feature (it's available in this forum!) but its failure has drawn a complete blank from the support team in every post I've seen. If developers (who want me to sign up for commercial versions) can't be bothered replying, why should punters bother searching?
BTW, none of the suggested methods in the user manual's for embedding images in a template work either.
