I would like to audit all address fields in Accounts and Contacts modules, but the fields are not defined in modules/Accounts/vardefs.php and modules/Contacts/vardefs.php.

I see they are defined in include/SugarObjects/templates/company/vardefs.php and person/vardefs.php.

Can I just add the 'audited'=>'true', line directly to those files or should I copy the field definitions I want to Accounts/vardefs.php and Contacts/vardefs.php and add the audited lines there?

I copied the definitions to respective vardefs and it worked, but I want to make sure I'm not breaking something else. And it certainly would be easier to edit directly rather than copying.

Actually it would be easier to check the Audit box through Studio and have it retained across upgrades. Is that in 5.5?
