    Cool Enable https on SugarCRM?

    Hi,

I have donwloaded and installed this version of SugarCRM:

rPath Linux Installer 4.5.0f (290.77 MB ISO)
Complete ISO image to create an installation disk. Installs Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Sugar Open Source on your i386 machine.

Can someone please explain how I enable https-access for SugarCRM on port 443?

    Thanks a lot!

You have to enable this at the web server level.

This link should help get you started:

    Ok,

thank you for your fast answer!
I understand that I need to enable ssl at server level.
Using rPath Linux Installer I can't understand which linux distribution I get, and I can't execute some basic commands like "ftp" and any other upgrade procedure I know. So I can't get new packages, can you please suggest something?

I am having the exact issue. I downloaded and installed the ISO distro

    # rPath Linux Installer 4.5.0f (290.77 MB ISO)

"Complete ISO image to create an installation disk. Installs Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Sugar Open Source on your i386 machine. "

Except the Apache does not appear to be complete. And don't point me to a UNIX or Linux book.

The docs say nothing about flavor of Linux. And I have seen the same thing, where did simply commands go? So. Is there an answer? It will be fixed. It is just annoying that it has to be done, when these things should have been installed and weren't.

    Greer.

I've used rPath for another project -- I think it was an Asterisk PBX server -- and I found the same issue: basically all normal means of control are hidden from you. I like to be able to customise things so I got rid of it and tried another method.

For SugarCRM I'm running the bitrock installer on top of Centos 4.4 server. That seems to work fine, and you still have control over the underlying OS. A much better approach in my opinion.

If you end up trying this route, for the record _everything_ you need to control it is in the /opt/sugarcrm_4.5.0/ directory, so don't try changing apache settings or mysql settings in the normal places on the server.

    hi:
I had the same problems, however Nathan at the sugar appliance forum is pretty good at walking you through the issues. To add a program in rpath try this from the command line: conary update package_name or if it is a package with multiple dependency's try: conary update --resolve

If you go to your sugar appliance web login page you should see a link at the main login page where it says support. This will take you to the sugar appliance help forum.
Also, you can check to see weather a package is installed by typing conary q package_name

    Hope that helps a little
