Enterprise Edition hosted by Sugar - what version is hosted atm?

Hi,
as i understood from another thread, when i purchase an enterprise license package, hosting on sugars on demand servers in included in the price.

two questions regarding this:

1. what version of sugar is installed at the moment? i assume that it's not the sugar 6 RC, right? how are upgrades handled? automatically or do you have to request it?

2. how is the installation of additional modules (from sugarexchange) handled? can i integrate add-ons myself?

thanks for further helping me out, i find the description on the homepage somewhat lacking when it comes to the "on demand" description.

You can check current version by clicking About button at top right. About upgrades, when sugar releases a new version, you(user with administrative rights) will have a message at the top. You have to get the patch and upgrade using Upgrade Wizard(I am not sure about services sugar on demand provides, will wait for better guidance for this here).

You can install add-ons yourself using Module Loader in admin panel.

Regarding your first question, if you purchased today, you would be provisioned with our latest shipping release, which is 5.5.3. Since Sugar 6 is still not released for General Availability (RC means it's a release candidate but isn't GA) you won't be provisioned on that; you can however request to be upgraded to that release, as we are looking for a few customers who are interested in migrating early.

Upgrades in general are handled automatically. You will receive an email notification a week prior to your upgrade, letting you know that the upgrade is going to happen. You will not need to perform the upgrade; we'll do that for you, typically during an off-business hour (either late night or during the weekend). Once 6.0 has been generally released, we'll begin the process of upgrading customers to this release.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact your SugarCRM Sales Representative. One way to do this is to fill out a "call me" form, located here, if you haven't contacted Sugar yet (and don't have a sales rep assigned to you).

Dear Susie,

two questions regarding the possibility to migrate early:

How would i apply for this?
We are considering to make our sugar order next week and i would be interested to start on Sugar 6 from the beginning (we plan to use it on-demand).

Will our data be automatically migrated/ stay in the actual versions when you upgrade us to the GA?

And one more thing:
could we upgrade from professional to enterprise if we decide at a later time?

Speak with your Sugar Sales rep and he or she can coordinate with our On Demand and Support teams to get you set up. As your instance moves from RC to GA, our On Demand team takes care of upgrading it to the final release for you.

Yes, you can upgrade from Professional to Enterprise.
