Default Error "Could not connect to the database. Please refer to sugarcrm.log for details."

    Hi, can someone please help.

I am using community edition - 6.1.1 with mssql server stack 2005 on Windows 7 32bit.

I have been developing the application for 3 months now and it is live and populated with data, however for some unknown reason I and all other users receive the following message.

"Could not connect to the database. Please refer to sugarcrm.log for details."

I cannot for the life of me work out what this is for. I have checked the logs I see.

"04/01/11 14:34:36 [7556][-none-][FATAL] Could not connect to server USER-PC as sa."

Nothing has changed in the user profile of the system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

    SOLVED - for now anyway.

Changed the cofig.txt file db_host_name to "localhost"

Would really like to know why this worked if anyone knows as it has been running for 3 months without a problem.

    Hi,

Ok, really having problems now, after a week with no issues the problem is back but intermittently. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can resolve this problem IŽd really like to hear them.

    Many thanks.

Problem came back again but what seems to have made the problem disappear completely was to edit the config.php file and change the line:

    "Persistant" from "true" to "false"

    Havent had a problem since.

    Hope this helps someone.
