    Default Error: Could not connect to the Sugar Server

    Please check your Proxy Settings value in the System Settings admin panel. Last attempted connection @ 2008-06-30 09:20

    Hi everyone,

    this is the error message we get after we log into Sugar. It happened out of the blue, no changes were made either in Windows, MySQL, or Sugar. Any kind of help is highly appreciated...

    System: W2k3SBS R2 SP1, MySQL 5.0, Sugar Professional Version 4.5.1 (Build 1197), IIS 6.0. All services are up and running, server reboot did not help...

    i again,

    and I have the problem, that only users with admin-rights are able to log in. For everyone else, after pressing the login-button the login-screen appears again, no error message.

    If this is the error message which u are getting
    Please check your Proxy Settings value in the System Settings admin panel. Last attempted connection @ 2008-06-30 09:20
    This is for the sugar CRM to connect to the net, I doubt it is not related to ur login problem
    Can u check it from the the server itself

    I tried it and it does not matter on which workstation or server I try to log in. If the user has admin rights, I can log in but I get the error message. If the user does not have admin rights (I created a new one but this is true for existing users, too), no log in is possible.

    BTW, internet is possible, no proxy server is used.

    It looks strange , admin users can log in , other users cannot log in , it does not show any error message Like "You must specify a valid username and password."
    Confused !
    I did also face some strange problem which is not similar to yours , but I got saved by doing repair from admin
    and my system was back normal

    I am not using MS OS ,
    in my case it is in the parent directory
    " /var/www/crm/sugarcrm.log"

    Hi,

    I just ran the diagnostic tool, downloaded the zip-file and found inside the following a lot of times:

    06/30/08 13:27:56,312 [2112] FATAL SugarCRM - FAILED LOGIN: potential hack attempt

    There are not too many, so I can exclude a real hack attempt. These are normal login attempts and they are being blocked. Any hints on this?

    I am having the same problem. I can login OK, but I have been getting this message for a few weeks. I've just been ignoring it, but there will come a time when I want to check for updates, etc.

    Windows Server 2003, Open source version 5.0.0e

    Any new ideas?


    OK - 3 hours later - it's now working. Why?? I have no idea.

    What I did: I changed some proxy settings (but to the wrong values). I finally figured out that we aren't using a proxy server, so I unchecked that box and saved everything. Logged out and closed the browser. Came in again and no error message AND I was able to download the latest patch (5.0.0f).
