Establish realtionship between documents and accounts, contacts and/or opportunities

Hello,

how can I establish relationships between uploaded documents and accounts, contacts and/or opportunitys?
Is it possible to upload a file by creating an account, contact and/or opportunity?
I would like to see realated documents in the account, contacts, opportunity view.

Hi Kevin,

If you are referring to uploading documents in the Documents module and linking these to Accounts, Contacts, or Opportunities, then this is not possible out of the box. The best you can do is link the Document to a Contract which is then linked to an Account of Opportunity (contracts by default are not linked to Contacts). To enable Account, Contact, or Opportunity relations to the Documents module would require code customization.

If you are just looking to attach documents to an Account, Contact, or Opportunity, then you can do this in the History subpanel of these modules. Simply click on the 'Create Note or Attachment' button (select the full form if necessary), and you will see that there is an Attachment field where you can load your document. Once you save this Note, it will appear in the submodule of the Account, Contact, or Opportunity, where you can easily click into the attachment
