    Default Expiration notice in Contracts - what is the alert mechanism

    Hi I was hoping someone could help me. I have create some contracts and have been testing the expiration notice. The documentation does not say how the notice is created and I have tested it and dont get an email,nothing in my sugar home or in the contracts. Is there something that I am missing. I was hoping it woudl create and action or at the minimum an email to go look at the record so I could create and oppurtunity?

    Right, tried but not work.
    I have added a new workflow, activated Schedulers: processWorkflow every one hours, Job Log it's ok but nothing.
    Email work fine, when assign new activities, SugarCRM send email to user ok.

    I think the expiration notice put a popup window on your browser when it due.
    You need to check the: Display reminder? in the user account module (my account)

    Let me know if it works. I have to use this functionality soon but have no time to test it.

    A way to do this is through Workflow.

    -Point the target module at Contracts.
    - Set the Execution Condition as "After Time Elapses".
    -Create a condition that is "When a field in the target module changes to or from a specified value"
    -Set the field to "Expiration Notice"
    -Set it to be "Is Less Than"
    -Pick an amount of time (eg 60 days)

    This will activate the workflow item when the date is 60 days before the expiration of a contract. The simple thing to do is to alert the person responsible for contracts via email.

    Or better yet, instead of the Expiration Notice field, use the "Time to Expiry" field and just have it check for when that field becomes a certain value (ie 60 days). Although this is all assuming the Expiration Notice isn't functioning properly

    I am experiencing the same problem!

    Is there anyone from the Sugar team that could provide input about how this should work and what could be expected, since there is no such documention in existing guides?

    Even if there are possible work arounds with workflows etcetera I would like to understand the purpose of having the expiration notice field in place?
