Default Export contacts returns CSV with only header... making labels?

I'm trying to figure out how to export my entire contact list to a file so I can make some mailing labels for cards for the holidays, but no matter what options are selected it returns a contacts.csv with only the following:

    "id","deleted","date_entered","date_modified","mod ified_user_id","assigned_user_id","created_by","sa lutation","first_name","last_name","lead_source"," title","department","reports_to_id","birthdate","d o_not_call","phone_home","phone_mobile","phone_wor k","phone_other","phone_fax","email1","email2","as sistant","assistant_phone","email_opt_out","primar y_address_street","primary_address_city","primary_ address_state","primary_address_postalcode","prima ry_address_country","alt_address_street","alt_addr ess_city","alt_address_state","alt_address_postalc ode","alt_address_country","description","portal_n ame","portal_active","portal_app","invalid_email", "campaign_id","account_name","assigned_user_name", "id_c","make_c","model_c","color_c","vin_c","socia l_security_c","drivers_licence_c","profession_c"

I need to something to return a list of customer names and addresses suitable for importing into a label making program of some kind (any recommendations?)... this is a really important part of my business since we don't send any other form of mass mailings and this is how we keep our customers updated. I have switched to sugar from ACT which just did it all in the software...

Not sure what approach you are taking, but here are the steps that I would follow. These work for me in Sugar OS 4.5.1g.

    1. Click on Contacts Tab
    2. Click on Clear button to clear any search parameters
    3. Click on the "Export" link, between "CONTACT LIST" and column headers
    4. It should show a drop down selection, choose "Entire List"

It should now send back the CSV list of all contacts. The steps above assume you have access to all Contacts in your database.

Is this what is failing for you? What version/edition of Sugar are you running?

Version is Version 4.5.1g (Build 1003)

It fails to export contacts no matter which option is selected, returning only a .csv with those headers.

    Hello,

When you are on contacts tab, you see several contacts (in other case click on "clear" button) and when you click on export -> Entire List, you don't have anything in your csv file ?
I see you have custom fields, I don't think it's the solution but look the database to check if you have data in the contacts_cstm related to the contacts (but I think it done a left join operation).

Check your config.php file to see what the settings are for "disable_export" and "admin_export_only". Also, is there any chance you have role security setup with no permissions to export?

If all else fails, I suggest you set your logging level in log4php.properties to debug and then analyze the output to see if it provides some clues.
