Default Export Customizations not getting all changes

I am a new user of SugarCRM 5.2.0 and have made some customizations using Studio. I added fields to the Leads module, added custom drop-down lists to some of the fields, added a relationship, and made some related changes to views. Now that it is time to move these to production, I used the Export Customizations facility of Studio to create a zip file (after selecting all available changes) in the dev environment and then used the Module Loader to install the zipped changes in production. However, many of the customizations were not included. In particular, it did not copy the custom drop-down lists or the relationship.

Is there a better way to move Studio custimazations from development to production?

Question Re: Export Customizations not getting all changes

We are very surprised that the Export Customizations process in Studio did not pick up all of our Studio customizations. From the documentation it seems that this is the way to move Studio customizations from development to production.

Is Export Customizations the way everyone is supposed to move Studio customizations from development to production?

Is anyone else having problems with this process?

Does anyone know what could make it go wrong?

    Hi,

I had this issue in 5.0.0i that I am currently using, but teh reason was that I tested the install of the exported .zip file (we will call one.zip) in my Dev instance and then made more changes then exported my changes again into two.zip.

If I installed two.zip into the live instance then it will only have the changes made after I install one.zip. I had to remove two.zip, install one.zip then two.zip.

    Hope this helps

    Rgds

So you are saying that Export Customizations keeps track of what has been previously exported and only exports new customizations. Therefore, if anyone testing our dev environment pushed the Export Customizations button and created a zip file, then they might have thrown away a rather important file without knowing it.

Is that correct? If so, then I would like to know if there is a way to reset the starting point so Export Customizations zips all changes?

    I'm having the same problems

I first, install Studio customizations (zip file)
I make a few changes in Studio, then "export customizations" (checking all customizations displayed)
The manifest.php in the resulting zip file does not contain majority of the custom fields that were in the older zip

    Any resolution on this?

From all the testing I've done, it appears as though there is no way export then import relationships made in studio. Very disappointing.
