Question Exporting report from Sugar to Excel 2007

    Goodmorning,

I hope somebody can help me. I am working for a company and I am the only one who is using Office 2007. For this reason I am the only one with this problem and I do not know how to solve it. I hope someone can help me. I have two problems. I am working with Sugar: Version 4.5.1g (Build 1003) and have Windows Vista. The other information (Webserver type, PHP version, MySQL version) I do not know.

    1. Each time I want to export a report from Sugar to Excel it opens a mess. I looks like it has not the right settings. It looks as follows:

I have also tried to change the delimiters and text qualifier when selecting "Text to columns" But that does not work either. When I ask my colleagues to export the report the have no problems and when they send it to me as an excel file there is no problem any more, but I am the only one working at a distance and therefore it is not a good solution. I hope anyone else can tell me how to solve this problem forever.

    2. My second problem is related to the first. I thought that I could maybe solve my problem by installing the Sugar Excel Plugin. This went OK, but when I wanted to start using it I received the following error.

I hope someone can help me, because now it is frustrating to work with reports.

    Thanks,
    Marika

Ps: it seems that my images are not displayed there for I attached them.

    Hi Marika,

Check your default delimiter in Windows: Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options then click "Customize this format" and see "List separator".

Then go to SugarCRM -> My Account and make sure that Export Delimiter is the same as Vista's "List separator".

    Cheers

Thank you Zaska for your answer. Unfortunately it did not work. It was different from my Sugar settings and I changed it in my Vista settings, but it did not help. I still do not get the document in columns and rows. Everything is still in only rows, but it also spilts the information just have way. There are also several blank rows inbetween the report and somtimes addresses or sentences are placed on a new row while there were no comma's or " .

I hope you can help me further.

What kind of report you're trying to export? Can you export contacts?

I am trying to export an report of all the new leads that need to be contacted. I need to see their contact details and their description and to whom they are assigned.

I tried to import some contacts into excel and that worked ok. I did not receive the right columns. For example I did not receive the account name, but I was able to put everything in columns and rows. I had to change manually the "text to columns" settings.

I also opened one of my reports again and exported it to Excel and I was able to get most of it in columns and rows with the manual settings. So probably the first solution you gave me did help a little. But I still need to remove the first 4 empty rows and than manually change the "text to columns" settings. Only the description information is not working. This information is spread over several rows.

But at least I can now read the reports again.

    Thank you.
