Sugar is great at being a ticketing system. It's actually the main reason we first started using Sugar. The question you have to ask yourself is is it worth maintain two separate systems as well as the integration when both systems share a similar feature set? Usually its not and its best to consolidate into one system.
I do understand Sugar is having ticketing system, but what we need in our company is to let customer login to the portal and keyin the case themself, and can check the case status.
i do tried the mambo for sugar portal integration, and i got a fatal error when installing. tried google and all the solution can't help. that's why we need a external ticketing system. if within sugar can done the customer portal, there is no reason for us to look for external ticketing system.
I believe this is a feature of the SugarPortal available with some of the commercial SugarCRM versions.
Yep, the portal is available with Enterprise (I don't think it's availble under Pro any more).
My company has it and uses it, and it works well.
Yes, SugarPortal is what you're looking for. If you don't want to upgrade to that the Joomla portal is another option for you. It's a bit tricky to set up initially to get the systems talking to each other but after that it works great.
joomla and mambo which is better for the portal integration? cause i tried mambo and i got fatal error in installation and get no help from google at all. is mambo still support?
I don't think there's a Mambo version for Sugar 5.0 yet.
