When i send an email from the activities subpanel, everything works fine, the mail sends, gets copied to sent mail, but i get a pop up that says

failedwhile(1);/*{"composeLayoutId":"composeLayout2"}*/

Not too helpful. If i turn off "copy to sent email" it works fine.
The permissions are correct on the cache directory

Anybody seen that before?

I too have the same problem with Emails module, did you find any solution for it, if you find any solution post it here, that helps to me..
